Welcome

As a therapist for about 25 years, I help clients work through personal and relationship challenges, dilemmas, and struggles.  Together, we focus on a problem and discuss whether there might be better ways to think about or deal with it.  It's a satisfying and sometimes difficult process to sort through what matters and what doesn't, what works and what doesn't, and what we can accept and what we can change. It's about learning what to pay attention to and what to let go of.  And it's about learning how to live in a way that supports being our best self - once we figure out what our best self really means.

Some of you may have many years of experience with therapy, others just a little, while others may have no experience in therapy at all. For those of you with experience, I hope you will share what you've learned about yourself from being in therapy.  For those of you with no therapy experience, perhaps this blog will give you a sense of how therapists approach problems, and whether therapy might help you.  Therapy is a relationship unlike many others. It is a set aside place and time that allows you to focus on yourself without worrying about appearing self-absorbed.

It's a privilege to share this experience with my clients, and I hope to share some of what we learn in the therapy room in this blog with others. I'll discuss issues, maybe some case examples, and other new things- like books or training or movies- that I've discovered might help you find and become your best self too.
